Under Your Bed That Could Be Robbing You of a Good Night's Sleep About Networking and Marketing Your Business
Many people ask me how I came up with the monsters, and I chuckle because one day I sat down and considered the five most aggravating tasks I had to do for managing, marketing and growing my business. Then I looked for cute monsters to represent those tasks.
First was learning how to choose the right shiny objects that kept flying into my inbox as 'the next best thing', 'gotta have', and 'what most successful coaches have or do'. This monster became Avery.
Second was that darn networking. I love people but dread walking into a room full of people I don't know but know they want to meet me. Getting overwhelmed with that thought was draining. This monster became Faye.
Third, was having to be online to find and attract my target market. For me, I didn't want to be everywhere, blasting out social media posts. This monster became Gabby.
Fourth was the prospect of joint venture partners. Oh gosh! When I was looking to expand my reach, I felt inadequate in size and experience to do that. This monster became Gerke.
Fifth, with all of these tasks in front of me, I procrastinated doing any of them until I was perfect. This monster became Renny.
That's how I came up with my monsters and have found that I'm not alone. Once I had purchased the rights to use the images, I developed an entire persona for each and built my unique selling perspective around them. What fun I've had kicking them to the curb and teaching others to do the same on a regular basis.
